It is my honor to welcome you to the Ministry of Health Educational Institutes (MoHEI) website. We are extremely pleased to share with you information about our health professional programs, the contributions made in the development of local workforce, and the potential they hold in shaping and advancing the healthcare system in Oman. Currently, there are seven undergraduate programs and a similar number at the postgraduate level. These professional programs constitute the core of the MoH commitments in building its own workforce and they are a reflection of one of the main pillars of health vision 2050. Graduates of these Institutes reached almost 13,382 in different healthcare disciplines and 29% of which completed post graduate education in various specialized fields.
Our strong commitment in responding to the need of healthcare services could be traced back in the early days of renaissance. As per the directions of HM Sultan Qaboos, the first vocational institute under the MoH was established in 1972 (Al Rahmaa School of Nursing). Ten years later the Institute of Health Sciences was founded. The early 1990s, witnessed the most significant expansion and Regional Nursing Institutes were established across the country followed by Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Information Management, and the Specialized Nursing Institutes in Muscat.
Our mission is to deliver education that offers our students the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes to succeed in their careers, advancing their profession, and positively influence the healthcare system to promote health and wellbeing. We passionately believe in our mission that is both pragmatic in nature and that which cultivate unique Omani virtues inherent from our society. We are aligned with the educational standards set by the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority and parallel to Global trends in health and education. Graduates are highly sought and many opportunities are open for career success through in-service training, internships, and continuous professional development activities.
We would like to invite you to visit our website and learn more about our programs. Plenty of opportunities are there for prospective students interested to pursue their career in healthcare education and to become a contributing member of the healthcare team. We are keenly interested in your success and the faculty is readily available to assist you in pursuing your academic ambitions.
Welcome once again for a bright future full of options.
